Posters of WWI and WWII

Maxwell Library, 2nd. & 3rd. floors
January 17 - April 6, 2018
Reception: January 25, 4-6

This exhibit of roughly 45 original posters shows examples of the self-sacrifice the country made during the two World Wars. Government driven propaganda stressed for women and men on the home front to plant Victory Gardens, can their own food, buy Liberty and War Bonds, and more. A number of the posters were designed to promote racism towards the Germans and Japanese, as well as instill fear in the name of the war effort.
