I started this series wanting to express the state of being in personal flux; aging, moving, changing perceptions and relationships, and with a painterly desire to convey a sensory experience of liquid and light. These pieces are a representation of transitions, both within myself and in the culture, and community. An awareness of shifting time. As the ice transforms it is supported by the substance of its former self while responding to the place it now inhabits. The shift creates beautiful imperfections that reflect and magnify the light with a grace that I would like to make my own.
