Nana

For this piece, I was inspired by my Nana. She was a big part of my life growing up. I always looked forward to Sundays at Nana’s house with all my cousins, aunts and uncles. Her house always felt so big with so many different rooms to explore. One of my favorite rooms was her sunroom. Windows surrounded the whole perimeter and it was filled with flowers, pictures and vases stuffed with sea glass that she collected off Nantasket Beach. After she passed, all the grandchildren got to take a vase full of Nana’s sea glass. This project is my way of immortalizing my Nana in these pieces of sea glass into something more than a vase.
